Athlete First: A History of the Paralympic Movement for ICSSPE members

ICSSPE is pleased to announce the upcoming release of our newest publication, titled "Athlete First: A History of the Paralympic Movement", authored by Steve Bailey.

The book is a unique publication that examines the ongoing developments surrounding sport for persons with a disability.

The International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education, with the financial assistance of the IOC, brought the idea to life by asking sports historian Steve Bailey to write the first book examining the historical origins of the Paralympic movement, also in relation to Olympic competition and able-bodied sport.

As part of the benefit of being an ICSSPE member, you may receive one copy, free of charge, of this publication.

As ICSSPE must first order these books from the publisher, we kindly ask those who are interested in receiving their copy of this book for your organisation, to confirm your interest to MS. Andrea Blume at ablume@icsspe.org with a current shipping address so that your book will arrive at the correct location.

Due to the January 2008 release date, please note that the books will not be shipped until the beginning of next year.

Additional copies of Athlete First: A History of the Paralympic Movement may also be pre-ordered at the ICSSPE Bookshop, online at www.icsspe.org .
